It doesn’t often snow in Kyoto, which is good because snow biking is a dangerous pain in the ass.

Ever wonder how people have all those perfect shots of geiko and maiko? Camera-stalking, that’s how! I like this one because it shows the ridiculous lengths to which people go (though IDK why their faces are blurred out, it’s more courtesy than they show their subjects).

I like these photos because they weren’t taken in the same four areas of the east side of Kyoto, which are probably not more than two acres square, total. These photos are clearly of a geiko (I think) walking between two of those areas, lol.

One of those really cheap but telling juxtapositions that I like.

I watched many maiko-sans, geiko-sans and restaurant staffs taking part in a fire fighting training. They were given a hard course by fire fighters of Kyoto City Fire Department. There are a lot of wooden constructions in Kyoto, especially in Gion-town almost are the old wooden. So that residents who live in this town must protect their houses from a fire by themselves.
